Questions about this product

How much is in the bottle?

56 fluid ounces, which is the refill size rather than the small trigger bottle.

Does it come with a sprayer?

It ships as a refill bottle of the pre-treater. Keep the trigger head or the whole bottle from a smaller size and top it up from this one.

How do I use it on laundry?

Remove as much of the excess stain as you can first, then spray directly onto the spot until it is saturated, rub it into the fabric, and let it stand up to ten minutes depending on how bad the mark is. Wash with your normal detergent after.

How long should I leave it on?

Up to ten minutes per the instructions. Longer is not better here the way it is with a soak, and letting it dry on the fabric makes it harder to rinse out.

Can I use it on upholstery?

Only on water-washable upholstery, and not sprayed directly at the stain. Spray a clean white towel, then blot the mark with the towel. A colored cloth can transfer its own dye into the fabric.

What kinds of stains is it for?

It is rated for food use, and food is the category reviewers name most, along with blood and grass. It is a fabric pre-treater, so it is aimed at the spot rather than the whole load.

Is it color safe?

It is oxygen based with no chlorine bleach, so it is gentle on color by design. Test a hidden seam on anything dark or delicate before you spray a visible panel.

What surfaces is it rated for?

Fabric. It is not a hard surface cleaner, and the multi surface products in the same brand family are a different formulation.

Is the cap secure?

Check it is seated square and store the bottle upright. The cap is the most mentioned weak point on this size, and a bottle laid on its side in a cupboard is where people find a puddle.

Does it have a scent?

It is listed as scented in the fresh family, and it is light enough that it does not survive the wash.

How does the refill compare to the 21.5 ounce spray?

Same pre-treater, larger bottle, better value per ounce. The trade is that you have to decant it, since the refill is not built to spray from directly.

What is the UPC?

757037000458.

This product keeps you close wider cleaner, and it's very easy to use in your washing machine. I use it every time I wash white clothes, especially but it can also be used on colored clothes.

Works Miracles on Stains AND Mildew

My sump pump stuck around Easter, and my basement was under 10" of water for at least a day. I had baskets of holiday guests' laundry that got soaked, and it took me weeks to work my way through bedding and everything. By then lots of stuff smelled mildewed. I was worried I'd ruined most of it. But I washed it with 2 cups of this OxiClean liquid, and I lost not one item! Everything came out smelling fresh as if I'd just washed a regular load of laundry.

I have been using tjis stain remover on my clothes for several years. Just spray, let set 10 minutes. I usually rub the stain between my hands or use a soft brush with greasy stains. Works great.

Great cleaning product for fabrics and carpet

This is a great cleaning product. This is labeled as a laundry stain remover, but we also use it as a heavy-duty cleaning product for fabrics, carpets, fabric covered furniture.

It wouldn't use it on plastic, wood or metal painted surfaces: a bit too strong for painted surfaces.

I also like the powder form: you can make poultices from the powder form that are great for stubborn stains in clothes or carpets.
