Using it is simple: I add a capful to the washer's softener dispenser and that's it. I loved the lavender and vanilla scent of Downy Infusions. It's a soft, warm, relaxing combination that stays on clothes after washing without being too strong. For me, the best part is putting on freshly washed clothes and catching that nice scent again. Beyond the fragrance, it makes clothes much softer and nice to the touch. It brings softness and a pleasant hint of lavender and vanilla, which makes laundry much more enjoyable. [Incentivized review] The vanilla keeps the lavender from smelling medicinal or like straight floral perfume. It's relaxing, soft, and not overpowering, and it gives clothes and bedding a cozy, fresh scent. I've noticed little to no residue on my clothes. Used properly, it leaves fabric soft without feeling greasy, sticky, or coated. The consistency is great. It isn't too thick, so it's easy to pour and measure, and it doesn't feel like heavy, syrupy softener. The scent lasts surprisingly well. I can still smell it on clothes, and especially bedding, after washing and drying. It dissolves and spreads well in the rinse cycle. I haven't had chunks, buildup, or noticeable spots using it in the softener dispenser.
