About this product
Ocean Mist laundry rinse in a forty-eight-ounce bottle
Downy Rinse Out Odor Ocean Mist Laundry Rinse comes in one forty-eight-fluid-ounce bottle, equivalent to 1.41 liters. Choose this low-pH fabric rinse to help remove stubborn odors and residue buildup from suitable washable laundry. Use it alongside your usual detergent, with the measured rinse going into the fabric-softener dispenser or the directed rinse-cycle arrangement. Ocean Mist leaves a cool, refreshing and airy scent on the laundry.
Rinse away residue from activewear, towels and bedding
The rinse helps remove odor-causing residues that can remain within fabric fibers after washing. Suitable washable items include everyday clothing, activewear, towels, delicates, baby clothes, sheets, blankets and pet bedding when their care labels permit the chosen cycle. It is designed for a residue-rinsing role rather than traditional liquid-softener conditioning. Follow individual garment care and the washer guide when selecting a cycle and temperature.
Start with approximately one-quarter cup for normal loads
Add your usual detergent before adding Downy rinse. Start with about half of the fabric-softener dispenser, approximately one-quarter cup, for normal loads and use more for tougher odors according to the bottle. One-quarter cup equals two fluid ounces, so this bottle provides approximately twenty-four doses at that amount. Higher doses reduce the washes available. Follow the current dispenser and bottle instructions for the actual load.
Seven ingredients with specific roles in the rinse formula
Citric acid is the cleansing agent, sodium citrate is a water softener, propylene glycol is a solvent, C12-16 pareth is a processing aid and sodium cumenesulfonate is a stabilizer. Fragrance and water complete the ingredients. The formula is made without dyes or heavy perfumes while still containing fragrance and fragrance allergens. Review the complete ingredient information when choosing around particular components.
Use the rinse dispensing step with detergent added separately
Pour the measured rinse into the liquid fabric-softener dispenser or directly into the rinse cycle according to your machine’s instructions. It takes the place of liquid fabric softener in that step; do not use it together with liquid fabric softener. Follow the washer guide for its dispensing arrangement and recommended rinse settings. Check garment care for washable fabrics before starting the load.
Keep separate from bleach and store the original bottle securely
Do not use Downy rinse with bleach. Keep the original bottle closed and out of children’s reach, retaining the full use and accidental-exposure directions. Wipe spills clean as instructed. Avoid swallowing the liquid or getting it into the eyes, and follow the complete precautions if accidental exposure occurs. Keep the dose instructions available when using different laundry loads or a different washing machine.

Questions about this product
How many doses does the forty-eight-fluid-ounce bottle provide?
At the normal starting amount of approximately one-quarter cup, or two fluid ounces, it provides approximately twenty-four doses. The bottle describes that amount as about half of the fabric-softener dispenser and directs using more for tougher odors. Higher amounts reduce the total washes. Consult the current bottle and washer guide so the dose suits the actual dispenser, fabrics and laundry load.
Does Ocean Mist rinse replace detergent or liquid fabric softener?
Add your usual detergent separately first. Use the rinse in place of liquid fabric softener during the rinse dispensing step, following the machine instructions. Its low-pH formula helps remove odors and residue buildup from suitable washable fabrics while adding Ocean Mist fragrance. Do not use it together with liquid fabric softener or bleach, and follow the complete bottle precautions.
Is Ocean Mist fragrance free, and can it be used on activewear?
It contains Ocean Mist fragrance and fragrance allergens, while being made without dyes or heavy perfumes. It is suitable for washable activewear, towels, delicates and other washable fabrics according to their care instructions. Check the full ingredients for components you avoid, use the directed rinse-cycle method and add your usual detergent separately. The scent is cool, refreshing and airy.

About this product
Two Ocean Mist laundry-rinse bottles for odor-causing residue
Downy Rinse Out Odor Ocean Mist Laundry Rinse comes as two forty-eight-fluid-ounce bottles, giving ninety-six fluid ounces across the pack. Choose this low-pH rinse to help remove stubborn odors and residue from suitable washable laundry alongside your regular detergent. It works in the rinse stage and leaves a cool, refreshing and airy Ocean Mist fragrance on the fabrics you wash.
For sweaty activewear, musty towels and washable bedding
The rinse helps break down and remove odor-causing residue left within fabric fibers. Suitable laundry includes everyday clothing, sweaty activewear, musty towels, washable pet bedding, sheets and blankets according to care instructions. This is a fabric rinse with a different role from traditional liquid softener. It is made without dyes or heavy perfumes while still containing fragrance, so review the complete current ingredients for components you avoid.
Start around one-quarter cup for a normal load
Add your usual detergent before adding the rinse. Pour directly into the fabric-softener dispenser, starting with about half of the dispenser, around one-quarter cup, for normal loads. Use more for tougher odors according to the current directions and machine guide. One-quarter cup equals two fluid ounces, giving twenty-four normal-load doses per bottle or forty-eight across the pack at that amount.
Use the rinse stage in standard or HE washing machines
The rinse works in standard and high-efficiency machines and across water temperatures when used as directed. Follow garment care for the actual temperature and cycle, especially for delicates and other items with specific washing requirements. Consult the washer guide for its softener dispenser and rinse settings, and retain the current bottle instructions so the measured product is added through the correct dispensing step.
Citric-acid cleansing with seven formula components
The ingredients are citric acid, sodium citrate, propylene glycol, C12-16 pareth, sodium cumenesulfonate, fragrance and water. Citric acid provides cleansing, sodium citrate acts as a water softener, propylene glycol is a solvent, and the formula includes processing and stabilizing ingredients. Retain the full current ingredient statement when selecting around particular components, along with the original bottle’s complete use instructions and precautions.
Follow additive restrictions and secure-storage precautions
Do not use this rinse with bleach or liquid fabric softener. Keep it out of children’s reach and follow all current handling and accidental-exposure instructions. Wipe up spills as directed, and close the original bottle between uses. Store both bottles securely with their matching closures and complete directions available, checking the washer guide when using other laundry products in the same routine.
