About this product
Island Fresh powder with tropical and floral notes
Gain Powder Laundry Detergent in Island Fresh supplies one 123-ounce box, weighing approximately 3.49 kilograms. The powder combines laundry cleaning with Odor Defense and a fragrance featuring tropical fruit and floral notes. Choose this scented detergent for suitable washable clothes and household laundry when you prefer measuring a powder dose to match the size of each wash.
Compatible with HE and standard washing machines
The formula works in high-efficiency and standard washers and cleans in cold water. Follow the garment care requirements when selecting temperature and cycle. Read the care labels, sort the laundry and test an inside seam for colorfastness as directed before washing. The powder can be measured for a medium load, a larger wash or a full HE load using the package chart.
Two tablespoons for medium loads
For a medium load, use two tablespoons. For a large load, measure five tablespoons or fill the scoop to bar three. For a full HE load, use three-quarters of a cup or scoop bar five. Deep-fill and extra-water settings require more detergent according to the box. Use the marked measuring guidance rather than estimating from a heaped scoop.
Add the powder before the laundry
Place the measured detergent in the washer as directed for its design, then add clothes. Use the powder detergent compartment when your HE machine requires it, and follow the washer manual for powder placement and dispensing. Leave enough space for clothing to move and choose a cycle appropriate for the fabrics, especially when washing bulky items or a larger mixed load.
Enzymes, cleaning agents and scented brightening care
The ingredients include cleaning surfactants, buffers, cleaning aids, whitening agents, the enzymes subtilisin and lipase, sodium carbonate peroxide and the bleach activator TAED. The formula contains colorants, fragrance and fragrance allergens, and is made without phosphates. Review the complete ingredients if you avoid particular detergent components. Island Fresh leaves a tropical and floral scent alongside the detergent’s cleaning and odor-control functions.
Understand the medium-load capacity estimate
The box is rated for up to 133 medium loads using the directed medium dose. Larger washes and full HE loads require more powder and reduce the number of washes available. Scooping method, settling and volumetric filling also affect the total. Keep the box dry and closed, avoid eye contact and swallowing, and store it out of children’s reach with its original directions available.

Questions about this product
What does Gain Island Fresh powder smell like?
Island Fresh combines tropical fruit and floral fragrance notes. This scented powder also contains fragrance allergens and colorants. Check the full ingredients if you avoid specific components. The detergent provides cleaning, odor control and lasting freshness for suitable washable laundry when measured and used according to the box directions.
How much powder should I use for a full HE load?
Use three-quarters of a cup or fill the scoop to bar five for a full HE load. Medium loads take two tablespoons; large loads take five tablespoons or scoop bar three. Follow the package for deep-fill or extra-water settings, and use your washer’s required powder detergent compartment or placement.
Will the 123-ounce box provide 133 large loads?
The up-to-133-load rating is based on medium loads. Larger washes use more powder, so they reduce the number of loads available from the box. Scooping, settling and volumetric filling can also change the total. Measure each dose using the chart and follow both clothing and machine care instructions.

About this product
Island Fresh powder detergent with tropical fruit and floral notes
Gain Powder Laundry Detergent in Island Fresh combines cleaning, odor defense and lasting freshness with a tropical fragrance. This item is one 82 net ounce box, equivalent to 5.12 pounds or 2.34 kilograms. It provides up to 89 medium loads at the directed measurement. Choose this powder for everyday washable clothing and household laundry when you want a detergent with tropical fruit and floral scent notes rather than an unscented wash.
Cleaning ingredients for dirt, stains and odors
The formula contains detergent cleaning agents, sodium carbonate peroxide, a bleach activator, enzymes including subtilisin and lipase, and brightening agents. It contains no phosphates. Island Fresh also contains colorants, fragrance and fragrance allergens, so check the full ingredients if those components matter to your household. The powder cleans laundry while helping with odors and leaving its tropical scent after washing. Use it as the detergent for the wash and follow the care label on each item.
Compatible with HE and standard machines
Gain Island Fresh powder works in high-efficiency and standard washing machines, including front-load and top-load models. It cleans in cold water as well as other wash temperatures. Choose the cycle and temperature permitted for the fabric, and use your washer instructions for the proper powder placement. Read the box directions and test an inside seam for colorfastness when needed before including a garment with a mixed laundry load.
Measure by tablespoons or the indicated scoop marks
Use two tablespoons for a medium load. Large loads use bar 3 on the scoop, equivalent to five tablespoons, and full HE loads use bar 5, equivalent to three-quarters of a cup, as directed. Use more for deep-fill or extra-water settings according to the package. The up-to-89-load yield is based on medium loads, so the larger amounts needed for full HE or large loads will reduce the number of washes per box.
Add powder before loading the clothes
Measure the detergent, add it to the washer and then load the laundry. Select the wash cycle and start the machine according to its instructions. Keeping the powder measurement matched to load size helps you use the box as intended. Store unused detergent dry, avoid contact with eyes and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Read the current package cautions and care directions before using the powder on a new type of washable fabric.

Questions about this product
What fragrance does Island Fresh have?
Its stated notes are tropical fruits and florals. It is a scented powder laundry detergent that leaves Gain freshness on laundry after washing. The formula includes fragrance and fragrance allergens, so check the ingredients if your household avoids those components.
How much powder should I use for a medium load?
Use two tablespoons as directed. A large load uses scoop bar 3, or five tablespoons. A full HE load uses bar 5, or three-quarters of a cup. Follow the box directions for deep-fill or extra-water settings, which call for more detergent.
Will one box wash 89 full HE loads?
The up-to-89-load figure is based on the medium-load measurement, not full HE loads. A full HE load uses the larger bar-5 amount. Actual yield also varies with scooping, settling and filling, so measure each load according to the package.
Can it be used in a cold-water front-loading washer?
Yes. It is compatible with HE and standard machines and cleans in cold water. Follow the fabric care label, measure for the load and add powder before clothing according to the washer instructions. Check a hidden seam for colorfastness when needed.
