Questions about this product
What does Tear-A-Square actually mean?
The roll is perforated into quarter sheets as well as full sheets, so you can tear off a small square for a spill, a half sheet for a wipe down, or a full sheet for a real mess. It is the reason to buy this over a standard roll.
How many sheets are in the pack?
1,320 sheets in total, 110 per roll across 12 double rolls. The pack weighs 6.34 lb.
Does a double roll mean twice a regular roll?
Yes, roughly. A double roll carries about twice the sheets of a standard roll, so 12 double rolls is around 24 regular rolls and you change the roll half as often.
Is it a select-a-size towel?
Yes, it is a pick-a-size format with quarter-sheet perforation, which gives more tear options than a standard select-a-size.
Does the quarter sheet actually tear cleanly?
Yes, along the perforation, provided you tear across rather than pulling down at an angle. Pulling at an angle tends to take the adjacent square with it.
Is it absorbent enough for a big spill?
Yes. The sheets are embossed, which is what creates the air pockets that hold liquid. For a large spill use full sheets rather than stacking quarters.
Can I use it for cooking or draining food?
It is a standard white pulp towel with no lotion or coating, so it works for draining fried food and for covering in a microwave. It is not rated as a food contact material for prolonged storage.
Does the smaller square save money?
It does if your habit is reaching for a full sheet to wipe a small spill. That is the use case the format exists for, and it is what most of the positive reviews describe.
