Downy Blends Soft & Fresh Toasted Vanilla beads combine a laundry scent booster with an in-wash softening agent. This offer contains one trial size bottle with 5.9 ounces, or 167 grams, of beads. The smaller bottle is useful for trying the Toasted Vanilla fragrance before choosing a larger supply. These beads add softness and fragrance during the wash. They are a laundry additive to use with detergent, rather than a detergent that cleans the whole load on its own. Measure the beads and add them before clothes

Use up to half a cap for a medium load, a full cap for a large load and one and a half caps for an extra large load. Measure using the cap supplied with this bottle and follow its directions. A larger dose uses the trial bottle more quickly, so the number of washes depends on your load sizes and measurements. Do not assume the dosing for another Downy bead formula is identical.

Add your detergent, then pour the measured beads directly into the washer drum before adding laundry. Use normal wash settings and avoid overstuffing the machine. The beads work in high efficiency and standard washing machines, including cold water conditions. Do not put them in a liquid dispenser or in the dryer. This product is for use in washing machines, where the beads can become part of the wash rather than sitting in a dispenser designed for liquid.

Choose fabrics that permit a softening booster

Do not use on garments made from fluffier fabrics such as fleece, velour, chenille or terry cloth. Do not use on children's sleepwear or garments labeled flame resistant, because the product may reduce flame resistance. An in-wash softening booster can increase fabric flammability, and using more than recommended can increase that effect. Check each item's care label and these exclusions before adding the beads to a load.

If fabric staining occurs, rewash on a normal cycle with warm water, following the garment's care requirements. Keep the bottle closed and out of children's reach, avoid eye contact and do not ingest the beads. The Toasted Vanilla name describes the fragrance; this is a laundry product.
