About this product
Warm vanilla fragrance and softening in one wash additive
Downy Blends Soft & Fresh Toasted Vanilla beads combine a laundry scent booster with an in-wash softening agent. This offer contains one trial size bottle with 5.9 ounces, or 167 grams, of beads. The smaller bottle is useful for trying the Toasted Vanilla fragrance before choosing a larger supply. Its scent has warm, creamy vanilla bean notes, making it a choice for shoppers who enjoy a sweet vanilla character in compatible washable clothes and linens.
These beads add softness and fragrance during the wash. They are a laundry additive to use with detergent, rather than a detergent that cleans the whole load on its own. The formula includes a perfume carrier, a softening agent, fragrance and colorants, and contains fragrance allergens. Choose it when you want both conditioning and a vanilla scent in the same additive. It is distinct from scent-only beads, so its fabric restrictions are important when deciding which loads to treat.
Measure the beads and add them before clothes
Use up to half a cap for a medium load, a full cap for a large load and one and a half caps for an extra large load. Measure using the cap supplied with this bottle and follow its directions. A larger dose uses the trial bottle more quickly, so the number of washes depends on your load sizes and measurements. Do not assume the dosing for another Downy bead formula is identical.
Add your detergent, then pour the measured beads directly into the washer drum before adding laundry. Use normal wash settings and avoid overstuffing the machine. The beads work in high efficiency and standard washing machines, including cold water conditions. Do not put them in a liquid dispenser or in the dryer. This product is for use in washing machines, where the beads can become part of the wash rather than sitting in a dispenser designed for liquid.
Choose fabrics that permit a softening booster
Do not use on garments made from fluffier fabrics such as fleece, velour, chenille or terry cloth. Do not use on children's sleepwear or garments labeled flame resistant, because the product may reduce flame resistance. An in-wash softening booster can increase fabric flammability, and using more than recommended can increase that effect. Check each item's care label and these exclusions before adding the beads to a load.
If fabric staining occurs, rewash on a normal cycle with warm water, following the garment's care requirements. Keep the bottle closed and out of children's reach, avoid eye contact and do not ingest the beads. The Toasted Vanilla name describes the fragrance; this is a laundry product. Only the 5.9 ounce bottle is included. Detergent, liquid fabric softener, dryer sheets and other Downy scents shown alongside it are separate products.

Questions about this product
Are these beads only a scent booster?
Downy Blends Soft & Fresh contains a softening agent as well as fragrance. It adds softness and scent during washing, so check its fabric exclusions rather than treating it as interchangeable with every scent-only bead formula.
How much Toasted Vanilla should I use?
Use up to half a cap for medium loads, a full cap for large loads and one and a half caps for extra large loads. Use this bottle's cap and do not exceed its directions.
Can I pour the beads into the softener drawer?
Pour them directly into the washer drum before clothes, alongside your detergent. Do not place them in a liquid dispenser or dryer. They are an in-wash additive for high efficiency and standard washing machines.
Can I use them on fleece blankets or terry towels?
Do not use this softening booster on fleece, velour, chenille or terry cloth. Also avoid children's sleepwear and flame resistant garments. These package restrictions help you decide which laundry loads are appropriate.

About this product
Toasted Vanilla scent and softness in one wash additive
Downy Blends Soft & Fresh Toasted Vanilla combines a laundry scent booster with an in wash softening benefit. This item is one bottle containing 24.5 ounces by weight, also marked 694 grams. It is a useful match for shoppers who want Downy beads with a warm vanilla fragrance and fabric softness from the same additive. Use it alongside laundry detergent, adding the measured beads directly to the washing machine drum.
A warm, creamy vanilla fragrance
Toasted Vanilla has warm, creamy vanilla bean scent notes. Its fragrance character suits people who prefer a cozy vanilla finish to a sharper fresh laundry scent. The fragrance description helps you identify the version to choose when replacing a bottle or comparing Downy scents. The formula contains fragrance, colorants and fragrance allergens, so check the ingredient information if you choose laundry products around particular fragrance ingredients.
Measure for medium, large and extra large loads
For a medium load, use up to half a cap. Use a full cap for a large load and one and a half caps for an extra large load. Follow the amount for your load rather than estimating by the size of the bottle. There is no fixed wash count printed for this 24.5 ounce size, because the number of uses depends on the measured amount added each time.
Add the beads before the laundry
Add your detergent, then Downy Blends, then the clothes, following the package sequence and the washer’s detergent instructions. The beads go directly in the drum. Do not put them in a liquid dispenser or in the dryer. They are compatible with HE and standard washing machines and all water conditions, including cold water. Use normal wash settings for best results and leave space for the laundry to move rather than overstuffing the machine.
Choose suitable fabrics for the softening benefit
This formula contains a softening agent as well as fragrance, so fabric restrictions matter. Do not use it on garments made from fluffy fabrics such as fleece, velour, chenille or terry cloth. Do not use it on children’s sleepwear or garments labeled flame resistant, because it may reduce flame resistance. The package warns that an in wash softening booster can increase fabric flammability and that using more than recommended can increase that effect.
Formula, storage and fabric care
The ingredients include PEG as a perfume carrier, dialkylester dimethyl ammonium methosulfate as a softening agent and polyquaternium 10 as a deposition aid, together with fragrances and colorants. Keep the bottle out of children’s reach and do not ingest the beads. Use them only in washing machines. If fabric staining occurs, the directions call for rewashing in a normal cycle with warm water; also follow the garment’s care instructions.
