OxiClean Free Versatile Stain Remover is a chlorine-free, oxygen-based powder for laundry and suitable water-washable household surfaces. This item is one tub containing three pounds, or 1.36 kilograms, by net weight. The Free formula contains no dyes or perfumes, making that ingredient distinction clear when you compare it with fragranced OxiClean powders. It is a stain-removing additive used alongside regular laundry detergent, with separate directions for soaking and household spot cleaning.

Add to the washer drum with your detergent

For regular laundry loads, fill the included scoop to the bottom of line B, using more for heavily soiled loads as directed. Add the powder to the washer drum before adding clothing and wash with your usual detergent. Do not mix the powder and detergent together in a dispenser. The tub’s 65-load figure is based on the regular dose; soaking, larger doses and household cleaning will change how many uses you obtain.

Presoak washable, colorfast clothing

For a laundry presoak, dissolve a scoop filled to line three in each gallon of water. Use the warmest water permitted by the fabric care label, without heating or boiling the solution. Submerge the stained items and soak for one to six hours, depending on the stain. Then wash with detergent and OxiClean as directed. Test colorfastness in a hidden area first, and avoid wool, silk, leather and dry-clean-only items.

Different directions for hard surfaces and soft furnishings

For suitable washable hard surfaces, dissolve powder to scoop line three per gallon of water. Allow five to thirty minutes of contact, scrub as needed and rinse thoroughly. For water-washable carpet or upholstery, use powder to the bottom of line B per sixteen fluid ounces of water. On carpet, apply enough to treat the stain, wait one to five minutes without letting it dry, then blot and rinse as directed.

For upholstery, apply the solution with a clean white towel and blot the stain; do not pour the solution directly onto the fabric. Rinse by blotting with a separate white towel dampened with clean water. Always check the furnishing’s care instructions and test a hidden area before treating it. These targeted methods require different quantities and handling from a laundry presoak.

Mix only what the job requires

Keep the dry powder securely stored away from children and avoid eye contact. Do not mix it with chlorine bleach, ammonia or other household chemicals; regular laundry detergent is used with it in the wash as directed. Do not store mixed solution in a sealed container because released oxygen can build pressure. Use the current scoop markings and tub directions whenever preparing a cleaning solution.
