How do I dose it?
Fill both the pre-wash and the main wash cups completely. Most dishwashers have two; filling only the main cup is the single most common reason people report poor results with a gel.
What is the pre-wash cup for?
It releases at the start of the cycle to loosen food before the main wash. Skipping it means the main wash is doing work it was not designed to do alone.
Does it contain enzymes?
Yes. Enzymes break down protein and starch residue, which is what handles egg, cheese, and dried-on starch that plain detergent leaves behind.
Is a gel better than a pod?
A gel lets you dose by load size and costs less per wash. A pod is pre-measured and more convenient, and usually contains a rinse aid. If your dishes come out spotted with gel, you are missing the rinse aid rather than the detergent.
Do I still need a rinse aid?
With a gel, usually yes, particularly in hard water. Spotting and cloudy glasses are a rinse-aid problem, not a detergent one.
Can I use it to hand wash?
No. Dishwasher detergent is far more alkaline than hand soap and will irritate skin. It is also not formulated to foam.
What scent is it?
Fresh, in the fresh family. The Complete line is a concentrated liquid gel rather than a powder or a pod.
How should I store it?
Cap closed, upright, somewhere that does not freeze. Gel that has frozen can separate and will not dose evenly.
How does 120 oz compare with the 75 oz twin pack?
Same gel. The 120 is cheaper per wash; the twin pack is easier to handle and lets you keep one under each sink.
