Yes, it is the with bleach formula, and it also carries antimicrobial ingredient properties. That combination is what handles a stained sink rather than just scrubbing it.
What does it smell like?
Pine. It is a strong scent while you are working and it rinses away with the powder, so ventilate a small bathroom.
Does it contain phosphate?
No phosphate, and the surfactants in it are biodegradable. Both are stated on the label.
Will it scratch my sink?
It is an abrasive powder, and the abrasive is doing part of the work. On stainless and porcelain that is fine with plenty of water and a light hand. On a glossy or coated finish, use a cream cleaner instead.
How do I use it on a sink or tub?
To clean and deodorize: for most problems, sprinkle Comet on wet surface or sponge, let sit for 15 seconds, rub, and rinse. If problem remains, wet surface, sprinkle on Comet, let stand for 1 minute, rub, and rinse. The dwell time is what does the work, so sprinkling and scrubbing straight away wastes powder.
Why choose the powder over a spray?
Its cleanser form is listed as powders, and the abrasive is doing part of the job, so it handles set-in rings and burnt-on residue that a liquid slides over. A spray is the better tool for a quick wipe down.
How should I store it?
In a cool, dry place with the lid shut, and discard the empty container in the trash. Damp storage cakes the powder in the canister and blocks the shaker holes.
