Equate Effervescent Overnight Antibacterial Denture Cleanser Tablets, Mint Fresh, 84 Count

This is the brand of 'soaks' I've bought and used since I started having to wear dentures and they just do what they are supposed to do - clean and fresh!

I have slowly been switching to Equate brands that are equivalent to name brands. I have been in habit of name brands for many years. This denture cleaner is every bit as good as the name brand I always used. So far I am very very pleased with the Equate brands and the savings in costs.

I bought these Equate overnight denture cleanser tablets because I wear a plastic night guard for teeth grinding. After a few weeks of use, that thing starts smelling like old socks no matter how much I brush it. I figured if these tablets are strong enough for dentures, they should handle my night guard just fine.

The tablets are small, about the size of a nickel. You drop one into a cup of warm water, and it immediately starts fizzing like a science fair volcano. The fizz lasts maybe three or four minutes, but the instructions say to let whatever you're cleaning soak overnight. I left my night guard in the solution for about eight hours.

The next morning, the water looked a little cloudy and had a faint minty-chlorine smell. Not overwhelming, but noticeable. My night guard came out visually cleaner, with none of that filmy buildup that usually needs scrubbing. More importantly, the odor was completely gone. Just a very faint clean smell left behind.

Here's what I don't love. The tablets leave a slightly slippery residue on the guard, so you have to rinse it really well under cold water before putting it in your mouth. I learned that the hard way with one gross-tasting morning coffee. Also, the packaging says antibacterial, which I like in theory, but I wish they specified what exactly that means.

I'm hoping a single container lasts me a few months since I only soak my guard twice a week. The tablets seem stable so far, no crumbling in the bottle.

Great for dentures, retainers, mouth guards, or anything that lives in your mouth overnight.

I use these to clean my mouthguard, and it works great! I like that I can leave my mouthguard in the solution all day. My only suggestion would be to make the cutting line on the wrapper easier to see.

I've used this product for... what seems like forever, many many years. most of all I enjoy the price, I enjoyed the quality. I can make sure that my dentures are securely being cleaned. even as I sleep. I'm never bothered by The taste or smell of it the next morning. so the price to me is great and the quality of it is great and I do recommend this label ..wholeheartedly.
