Directions

Hold container 6 to 8 inches from skin and spray with a slow sweeping motion. Do not apply over cuts, wounds, irritated or sunburned skin. Do not spray in enclosed areas. Use just enough repellent to cover exposed skin. Do not use under clothing. Avoid over-application of this product. Frequent reapplication and saturation are unnecessary. Apply sparingly around ears. When using on children, apply to your own hands and then put it on the child. Do not allow children to handle this product. After returning indoors, wash treated skin with soap and water. For maximum protection, spread evenly with hands to moisten all exposed skin.

Pleasantly surprised by this bug spray

I received a bottle of the Grand Tongo Insect Repellent from Stellar Product Testing Panel in the Green Tea + Mint scent in exchange for an honest review. Once I sprayed my arms and legs all over ( because I am a BUG MAGNET) I immediately noticed how smooth my skin felt. Other products I've tried leave a greasy or sticky feeling, but not with this brand. Also, the Green tea + Mint scent was super pleasant and mild. I don't like strong scents and this one is very subtle with soft notes of both green tea and mint, I love it! Now, as I said before, bugs love to eat me ALIVE. It may be my blood type but whatever the reason, I was excited to try this bug spray. To test it, I sat outside on my patio at dusk (when the mosquitos especially love to feast on me), sprayed myself all over and waited. And waited. I did not get a single bite. I couldn't believe it. This stuff works, run don't walk to get some.

New summer staple bug repellent

The Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent is the classiest, quality bug repellent I have tried! The scent of green tea and mint, smells fresh and tangy and is very subtle. The spray mists on to make it easy and quick to get all over coverage that lasts all day in the summer heat. The repellent absorbs quickly and does not require rubbing into skin, leaving no sticky feeling behind. I truly feel like this is a quality product and new everyday staple to my summer routine of being outdoors in the mountains of Western North Carolina.

Feels like nothing almost smells like nothing too

My family and I have had the pleasure of reviewing the new Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent on the behalf of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am always happy to try new bug sprays as we use it daily here in Oklahoma. Walking into our backyard I immediately put on bug spray.

The Grand Tongo spray can has a sleek, pleasant looking design. My favorite feature is the twisting lid lock. I don’t have to keep track of a plastic lid that will eventually get lost in a bag or in the car. While it’s not childproof, it’s a step up from most aerosol bug spray cans. I feel comfortable throwing it in a bag when I’m on-the-go because it’s easy to apply and won’t get messy. The can is very clean and neat, and it clearly communicates the types of bugs it repels. The ingredient list is short; however, I would like clarification on the 80% of “other ingredients. ” This is very vague–I like knowing what I am putting on my body.

Does Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent hold up to its “quick-dry clean feel formula” claim? Yes, I would say so, especially when compared to other bug sprays we use. There is no greasy residue left on your skin. Even my husband–who hates greasy bug sprays–doesn’t complain about this one. Does it hold up to its claim that it doesn't damage clothing, fishing lines, plastics or nail polish? I can confirm that so far in my experience it does not damage clothes. After putting it on exposed limbs, I like to do a quick spray of clothes just to be sure. I have not seen any visible residue on them. I am a fan.

How does it smell? Not bad. I tend to like tea tree oil and mint. But even if I didn’t like it, the smell fades quickly enough. I have a very sensitive nose, and while I am outside I cannot smell it on me. If I am inside I can smell a little spicy residue which is probably from the picaridin–the main ingredient.

Is it safe for the family? Well, it says so. I’ve mostly used it on myself, occasionally on my children. I would recommend doing your own research to determine what is safe for you and your family. After doing my own research on the safety of picaridin, I learned that a mere 20% concentration is sufficient for all-day protection–being effective for up to 14 hours. Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent promises a 12-hour minimum of protection.

Overall, I am really impressed with Grand Tongo Green Tea + Mint Insect Repellent. It really delivers on its promises. I will continue using it for now, since it seems to work.

Great bug spray

Love this bug spray! It’s light and easy to apply, and most importantly works at keeping the bugs away. The scent is light and fresh, not overpowering at all. It smells more like a light perfume/ cologne. The spray dries in a couple minutes and did not leave residue on our clothing. My kids didn’t mind using it and both liked the scent. I love that it only took a minute to apply and get back to enjoying the outdoors. We will be using this all summer. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
