Questions about this product
How tall is the mop?
54.25 inches assembled, which suits most adults without stooping.
What is the head made of?
Microfiber strands in a string mop format. Microfiber lifts and holds dirt rather than pushing it around, which is why it works with less detergent than a traditional cotton string mop.
How does the wringing work?
There are four steps: release the latch, submerge the head, twist to wring, then mop. The wringing is a twist and pull action built into the handle rather than a separate bucket mechanism.
How much hand strength does the wringing need?
More than a lever or pedal operated spin mop. It loads the wrists and grip, and several reviewers with arthritis or reduced hand strength report they could not operate it. If that applies to you, a pedal operated spin mop is the better format.
The head came off the pole while I was wringing it. What causes that?
The head attaches by a latch, and the joint takes the full torque of the twist when wringing. Check the latch is fully engaged and clicked before first use, and wring with a steady twist rather than a sharp jerk. A head that detaches under normal use is a defect rather than a technique problem.
How wet should the head be for different floors?
Wring firmly for wood and laminate, where standing water is the risk. A wetter head is fine on tile and vinyl. Controlling how much water goes down is the main advantage of a microfiber twist mop, so wring twice for sealed wood.
Can I machine wash the head?
Yes. Wash warm without fabric softener, because softener coats microfiber and destroys the capillary action that makes it pick up dirt. Air dry rather than tumble drying hot. A head that has stopped absorbing has usually been softened rather than worn out.
How often should the head be replaced?
Every few months with regular use, or sooner if the strands are matted or it has stopped holding water. Refill heads for this model are sold separately.
Does it come apart for storage?
The pole sections separate. Make sure each section is fully engaged when reassembling, since a partially seated joint is a weak point under wringing load.
