Questions about this product

How much powder is in the tub?

1.8 lbs, which the label also states as 28.32 ounces, in a resealable tub with the dosing lines marked on the scoop.

How do I dose it in a top loading washer?

Fill the washer with water, then add the powder and your detergent before the laundry goes in. Fill the scoop to the bottom of Line 1 for a regular load, and higher for a large or heavily soiled one.

How do I dose it in a high efficiency washer?

Add it to the drum before the laundry, not after. Line 1 for a regular load, Line 2 for large or heavily soiled.

Can I put it in the detergent dispenser with my detergent?

No. The instructions specifically say not to mix it with detergent in the dispenser. It goes into the drum or the wash water.

Can I soak with it?

Yes, and it is the method reviewers mention most on this tub. Fill the scoop to between line 2 and line 4 per gallon of water, let it dissolve, then submerge the item. Soak 1 to 6 hours depending on how bad the stain is, and the label puts best results at the full 6 hours. Wash as normal afterward with detergent.

Is it color safe?

It is an oxygen based powder rather than chlorine bleach, so it is far gentler on color. Test a hidden seam on anything dark or delicate, and keep it off wool, silk, and leather.

Can I use it outside the laundry?

Yes, it is rated multi surface, which is what the Versatile name refers to. People use it on tile, grout, plastic patio furniture, trash cans, and coolers.

Does the powder dissolve completely?

It needs warm water and some agitation. Poured dry into a cold wash it can leave grit against dark fabric, so dissolving it first is worth the extra minute.

Does it have a scent?

It is listed as scented in the fresh family. It is light, and it washes out rather than staying in the fabric.

How is the powder different from the spray?

The powder is the in wash and soak version, concentrated and meant to be dissolved. The spray is a pre-treat you apply to a specific mark before the item goes in the machine. Most people who use both keep the tub for loads and the spray for spots.

How should I store the tub?

Lid closed, somewhere dry. It is a powder and moisture is what turns it into a solid block, so a laundry room shelf beats the floor beside a washer.

What is the UPC?

757037950869.

Helps Remove Stains In The laundry And More

I have a throw rug in my bathroom that had some dark stains on it. I think our shoes were leaving marks when we walk on the rug when the shoes were wet. The rug is too big for my washer, so I decided to use my carpet scrubber on it. I added this Oxi Clean powder to the water in my carpet cleaner. The stains faded down very much. I will try again to see if they go away totally. Just a quick hint: If you add this to a carpet cleaner, make sure the powder is totally dissolved before you use the scrubber. It could cake up and plug up your carpet scrubber.

It does a great job of cleaning. I put my dog's harness and leash in water and oxiclean and let it soak. It comes out looking brand new. I add it to laundry and seems to help with stains. I've used it for a long time.I recommend it.

Good Value, Subtle Results

OxiClean Versatile Home and Laundry Stain Remover Powder is a solid product and a good value for the price. It's easy to use and works well as an added boost to regular laundry. While it does help with some stains, I didn't notice a dramatic difference compared to my usual routine.

That said, it's still a reliable option for general cleaning and stain treatment, especially for everyday use. Worth trying if you're looking for an affordable stain remover, just don't expect huge, instant results.

ITS OXICLEAN AMAZING

its crazy how they UNLEASH THE POWER OF OXYGEN to make your brights brighter, and remove your stains! but for real, this stuff is great to just have around the house. all you really need is like a normal spoonful for your laundry instead of the big one that comes with the tub. i usually buy this smaller tub when i need to make spray, or a solution. you just need to add like 2, maybe 3, normal spoonfuls to a bottle and fill it like 3/4 of the way with water, then shake it to your heart's content or just when the powder dissolves. for a solution i usually just do a half to a full spoonful of the big one that comes with the tub, and just put in a bucket and stir it till it dissolves, then throw what i need into it, then let it soak overnight.
